I specialize in journal articles, though I sometimes edit book projects if they are a good match with my own academic background.   My skills center on copyediting for grammar, clarity, and minor organization issues, as well editing for standard English expression (for clients whose first language is other than English).  I typically do not do proofreading or developmental editing projects.

For most projects I charge a per-word rate, ranging from 2.2-5 cents/word, based on the level of editing required.  The fee for editing is determined by multiplying the number of words in the text to be edited by the per-word rate.

If you decide to hire me for a project, I require payment in advance.  Most clients use paypal (http://www.paypal.com) to remit payment; sending a money order is also fine.  If your university is willing to pay for the work, I am happy to work with you and your university administrator to file any necessary paperwork.
